About Me
I was born in Guildford and grew up in a house with a river at the bottom of the garden. This makes me sound quite posh but it wasn’t a very big house and it wasn’t a very big river. Nine years at boarding school taught me absolutely nothing about how to be an adult and actually becoming an adult also failed in this respect. One thing I did eventually learn, however, was that I should have tried writing a book much earlier than I did, although I also now realise that it would have helped had I become a celebrity first, as this would have made selling the books much easier. Having lived in a quirky, not-quite-Cotswold village in west Oxfordshire for a quarter of a century, I moved to Petersfield, Hampshire in late 2021 to avoid the paparazzi.
I’ve written three thrillers-with-laughs featuring Dawson and Lucy, all of which have been published by Claret Press: A Very Important Teapot (2019), set in Australia; Bored to Death in the Baltics (2021), not set in Australia, and now Poor Table Manners, in which Dawson and Lucy hit Cape Town… and Cape Town hits back. Whilst a series, the books are standalone stories so can be read in any order.
I am presently writing a fourth book in the series and have two other non-Dawson and Lucy drafts currently awaiting further attention.
